West Bengal Preps For Counting On May 2 With Heavy Force Deployment
West Bengal is all set for vote counting on May 2 with 108 counting centers in 23 districts. The Election Commission has deployed 256 companies of central forces while enforcing strict COVID-19 regulations. Moreover, three-tier security has been set in place at counting centers where polled electronic voting machines and VVPAT units are stored. Reportedly, at least 292 observers have been appointed at the counting centers.

EC Orders Vaccination Certificate Or COVID -Ve Report For Counting Agents
The Election Commission has mandated a COVID-19 negative RT-PCR report or vaccination certificate for candidates and agents to enter the counting centres. Ahead of the May 2 vote counting, the Commission barred any gatherings outside the centres. Ensuring protective medical items for counting agents, the Commission sought candidates to provide list of agents three days before counting.
