EAM S Jaishankar Meets Chinese Minister Wang Yi, Discusses Outstanding Issues In Bali
Union External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar met with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Bali, on July 7. The meeting was held with a focus on "specific outstanding issues,' happened on the sidelines of a meeting of the foreign ministers of G20 countries. "Began my day in Bali by meeting FM Wang Yi of China. Discussion lasted one hour. Focused on specific outstanding issues in our bilateral-relationship,' Jaishankar tweeted.

Russia-Ukraine Border Issue 'Worsening', Says China; Calls For Restraint
Amid the ongoing tensions in Russia-Ukraine border, China's foreign minister Wang Yi expressed concerns over the situation, on February 22. Yi stated that the condition nis "worsening" and urged all parties to "excercise restraint". Wang further said that, "China will continue to stay in touch with all parties". China also stated that the legitimate security concerns of any country should be respected.

India's External Affairs Minister Meets Chinese Counterpart
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on July 14 for an in-person meeting in Dushanbe. China agreed to seek a "mutually acceptable solution" when India mentioned the negative impact of stretching the existing situation in eastern Ladakh on "bilateral ties". Although China has moved its troops from Galwan and Pangong Valley, the disengagement remains incomplete at Hot Springs, Gogra, and Depsang.

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar Boycotts China-led Security Council Meet
Owing to the tensions between India and China, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar remained absent at the Security Council meeting convened by China on May 7. The virtual meeting focused on multilateralism and maintenance of international peace was instead attended by Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla. Reportedly, China will convene two more meetings on Africa and COVID-19 recovery along with improving safety of peacekeepers.

India, China To Establish Hotline For "Timely" Border Communication
