Sachin Tendulkar's Statue Unveiled In Glittery Event At Wankhede Stadium: Mumbai
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar unveiled his statue at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, in a glittering event. The Master Blaster's life-size statue has been installed at the Sachin Tendulkar stand in the stadium. It has been crafted by Pramod Kamble, a well-known painter-sculptor from Ahmednagar. Sachin Tendulkar was joined by Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, NCP leader Sharad Pawar, and other officials of the BCCI.

India To Host IPL 2022 With No Crowd Audience, Says BCCI Official
The BCCI officials confirmed IPL 2022 to be held in India. Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the IPL 15th edition is expected in India with no crowd audience. Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, Cricket Club of India and DY Patil Stadium are some of the suggestions for the IPL venue. However, the BCCI will take a final decision for same after considering the COVID-19 situation. Notably, 1,214 players registered for IPL 2022.

BCCI won't shift games out of Mumbai citing lack of time
The second wave of the pandemic has affected seven Indian cricket board office staff and 10 ground staff at Wankhede Stadium have tested positive for Covid-19. Still, the BCCI has refused to shift the games out of Mumbai; the first of which is slated to happen on April 10. An official from BCCI has said all safety measures are being taken to ensure the safety of players and staff.

IPL 2021: Delhi Capitals Player Axar Patel Tests positive for COVID-19
Delhi Capitals player Axar Patel has been reported Covid-91 positive. Patel is currently in isolation at a hospital. He checked into the team hotel in Mumbai on March 28, with a negative report but his second test report came positive. However, the team's training schedule remains the same as he was not a part of the bio-bubble. The IPL is all set to begin from April 9.

Batmaker for International Players Now Faces Difficult Times
Ashraf Chaudhary, who used to mend bats for the international players like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and Steve Smith, is struggling with deteriorating health conditions and economic crisis. A patron to Ashraf, Prashant Jethmalani, is raising funds for his treatment. Jethmalani said, "We managed around two lakh but we need more. We also want to raise some funds for him for his sustainance in the near future."
