National Institute of Ocean Technology has come up with an eco-friendly mechanism to fight oil-spills in seas and oceans. Scientists devised a crude-oil bioremediation technology, which uses a group of marine-microbes wheat bran inactivated on agro-residue bacterial cells. National Green Tribunal has asked the Central Pollution Control Board to make environment restoration plans for Uttarakhand's Sitarganj Industrial area within three months.
