Water Taxis Likely To Operate In And Around Mumbai From May
Come May, water taxi services will become operational in and around Mumbai. The decision has been taken after successful completion of goods-cum-passenger ferry service RoPax, launched in 2020, that witnessed one lakh passengers in 20 weeks between Mumbai and Mandwa. Reportedly, water taxis will have 14 to 45 passenger seats and private players will be running the services. Moreover, it has been planned to run water taxis on 12 routes.

Suez Blockage: Centre's 4 Point Plan Include Cargo Priority, Re-Routing
The Commerce Ministry on March 26 came up with a four-point plan to tackle the Suez Canal blockade including cargo, freight rates, advisory to ports, and re-routing of ships. Reportedly, Indian export bodies FIEO, MPEDA, APEDA will identify and prioritize the shipment of perishable cargo with the help of shipping lines. $105 Mn Project Signed To Improve Waterway Infra In Bengal
To modify the inland waterway infrastructure in West Bengal, the Union and the state government has signed a $105 million project with the World Bank.
