Mamata Banerjee Request For Calm After 12 Killed In Post-Result Violence
Blaming BJP for the post-poll violence, Mamata Banerjee has requested for peace. The calm call came after nearly dozen lost their lives in the bloodshed. Meanwhile, arriving in Kolkata, BJP president JP Nadda has announced to stage a day-long Dharna on May 5 alleging TMC behind it. Recently, Home Ministry also asked for a report on the violence that killed at least dozen within 24 hours of election results.

EC Rejects CM Mamata's Outsider Claims At Nandigram Polling Booth
The Election Commission wrote to Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee rejecting her claims of outsiders at Nandigram polling booth. Terming her apprehensions as ‘factually incorrect’ and ‘devoid of substance’ EC’s Umesh Sinha said that her claims are examined under Representation of People Act and Model Code of Conduct. Earlier, Banerjee had stated that the outsiders were creating trouble, and blamed EC for not taking any measures.

Assam Phase-3 Polls: 18% Candidates With Criminal Cases, 27% Millionaires
Analysing candidates contesting the third-phase Assam Assembly polls, the Association for Democratic Reforms and Assam Election Watch stated 18% of the candidates have declared criminal cases against themselves. Central Army Forces Deployed In WB, Ahead Of The State Election
Around 125 battalion of central forces have been deployed in West Bengal by the Election Commission of India, ahead of state-poll.
