West Bengal Polls: BJP's Manoj Tiwari defies Covid-19 protocols during Barrackpore Roadshow
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari was seen flouting the Covid-19 protocols during his Barrackpore rally, on April 15, as he placed himself atop a truck mask-less between the heavy crowd. When asked about the protocol breach, Tiwari said that "as someone comes close to me I will wear it (mask)". However, in his tweet featuring the rally's video, he urged people to follow the Covid-19 guidelines.

Bengal: 14 Bombs Recovered, Disposed Ahead Of 5th Phase Of Elections
The West Bengal Bomb Squad on April 12 disposed off at least 14 crude bombs recovered in Shamsherganj of Murshidabad district. Notably, the area is poll-bound for the fifth phase of the assembly elections scheduled on April 17. Recently, the state had witnessed a violence in Cooch Behar district during the fourth phase of the elections on April 10 that had caused the death of four people.

Bengal BJP Chief Dilip Ghosh Warns Of Encounter, Cooch Behar Like Act
Following the four deaths in West Bengal's Cooch Behar, the Bengal BJP Chief Dilip Ghosh has warned of similar killings if someone tries to breach the law and order. Calling the deceased as "naughty boys", Ghosh said, "if anyone dares to take law into his hands, same will happen to them also". While reacting to Ghosh's statement, TMC has lodged complaint to the EC and a CPI-M leader remarked BJP, a fascist.

Bengal Polls: EC Slaps Notice To CM Mamata Over Communal Remarks
In a new addition to the already-heated West Bengal Assembly polls, the Election Commission has handed a notice to CM Mamata Banerjee for allegedly violating the election code. The EC has sought a reply from Mamata in 48 hours against her remarks in Tarkeshwar rally where she asked Muslims to unite for TMC and not let their votes split. BJP claimed that Mamata's statement were intended to incite communal violence.

Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee Complains Of Another Attack In Nandigram
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on March 31 stated that her car has been attacked once again in Nandigram. According to reports, the latest alleged attack on her car took place on March 30 during her visit to a TMC worker who was recently beaten up. The CM also claimed about having proofs in photographs and videos and said, "Let the elections be over in Bengal, then I will take action."

TMC Defers Manifesto Release Following Attack On CM Mamata
The Trinamool Congress has deferred from releasing its manifesto for upcoming elections following the attack on West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on March 10. The manifesto, originally scheduled to be released on March 11 at CM Banerjee's residence, will now be made public only after she "gets well and is back home". The CM had sustained severe injuries on foot and arms after she was allegedly attacked in Nandigram.
