New Endemic Plant Species Found In Western Ghats In Maharashtra

A novel plant species of the Sahyadri globe thistle, 'Echinops Sahyadricus', has been discovered in the northern Western Ghats. Researchers - Sushant More, a resident of Mumbai and Fabio Conti, an Italian citizen - discovered the species in Maharashtra's Pune district. Reportedly, the plant species grow in monsoon season and yields fruits around December. Besides, the plant species discovered is also endemic to western Maharashtra.
