The J&K Wetland Authority on March 31 announced to declare Kashmir’s Wular, Dal and Nigeen lakes, and Jammu’s Sanasar, Manasbal and Purmandal lakes as protected wetlands. Kaziranga Wetlands Clock 175% Rise In Water Bird Population
Population of water birds in Assam's Kaziranga National Park has increased by 175%, revealed a latest census findings. Conducted in 52 wetlands of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the census documented 93,491 birds, including 58 migratory avian species from Europe, Central and East Asia. Maharashtra: NGT Orders Restoration Of Dhamapur Lake
Hearing a 2017 application of Maharashtra's Sindhudurga residents, the National Green Tribunal ordered restoration of 490-year-old Dhamapur Lake. It ordered the district collector to freeze Rs 1.5 crore in PWD's bank-account until it transfers the amount to the State Biodiversity Board.
