Spain Experiences Heatwave, Wildfires Continue Spreading

Since the onset of the heatwave a week ago, wildfires have burned over 22,000 hectares of woods and brush throughout Spain. Temperatures in southern and southwestern Spain exceed 44 degrees Celsius, while the remainder of the nation averages about 40 degrees Celsius. So far, no fatalities have been recorded as a result of the flames, but three firefighters have been sent to the hospital for treatment.

World's '1st Patient' Gets Diagnosed Due To Climate Change: Canada

A patient in Canada was diagnosed with a breathing problem suffering from climate change, as per reports. The patient was struggling to breathe after the recent incidents of wildfires in Kootenays which worsened her asthma, media reports said. Moreover, Kootenays has seen over 1,600 wildfires in the year 2021, leading to several deaths due to heatwaves, according to the BC Wildfire Services report.

Israel To Send Planes & Firefighters To Help Greece With Wildfire

An unusual heatwave in late July swept across southern Europe causing heavy wildfire in many countries like Italy, Spain, Greece, Turkey, and many others. Greece and Turkey were the most affected regions with 568 wildfire incidents. Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has promised its Greek counterpart that Israel will assist and aspire to send three planes with extinguishers in addition to 15 Israeli firefighters to help Greece.

Citizens, Tourists Evacuated Due To Massive Wildfires In Greece

Greece is suffering from massive wildfires which have killed at least two people, including a firefighter. Reportedly, six areas have been on high alert and 150 fires have been spotted. Tourists and residents are being evacuated as strong winds and high temperatures are making the blaze uncontrollable. People in Athens are also being moved out due to huge clouds of smoke and ash surrounding the city.

Turkey's Wildfire Spreads Across Mediterranean & Aegean Coasts

The wildfire in villages and resorts on the Mediterranean and Aegean coasts of Turkey has killed four people with many rushed to the hospital. While thousands of firefighters are combating the fire, an investigation has been launched to determine if the origin was arson. Turkey's Agriculture Minister Bekir Pakdemirli said during his visit to Manavgat that bringing the fire under control will take some time.
