4 Men Held For Gang-Raping Monitor Lizard In Sahyadri Tiger Reserve: Maharashtra
In a bizarre incident, four men allegedly gang-raped a Bengal monitor lizard inside the Sahyadri Tiger Reserve, Maharashtra. All four men have been identified. They had allegedly come to the Chandoli village for hunting. The incident came to light when the forest officials checked the phone of one of the men. The heinous act had been recorded on camera. This reptile is protected under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972.

Bengali Actress Srabanti Chatterjee Booked For Wildlife Law Breach
The West Bengal forest department has issued a notice to actress Srabanti Chatterjee, for allegedly capturing and shooting photographs with a chained mongoose. However, the actress has been asked to appear before the office of the Wildlife Crime Control Cell and Data Management Unit in Salt Lake, Kolkata. Reportedly, Chatterjee is booked under relevant sections for violating Wildlife Protection Act 1972.
