Czech Pair Barbora Krejcikova, Katerina Siniakova Win 2nd Wimbledon Women's Doubles Title

Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic won Wimbledon women's doubles for the second time on July 10 after defeating top-seeded Elise Mertens and Zhang Shuai. The Czechs defeated No. 1 seeds Mertens and Zhang to win their sixth Grand Slam doubles title. They also took home the Australian Open championship this year, defeating Anna Danilina and Beatriz Haddad Maia in the final.

Australians Matthew Ebden and Max Purcell beat reigning champions Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic in a five-set thriller to win their first Wimbledon Grand Slam on July 9. The Australians, who saved eight match points in two rounds to reach the finals, won the fifth set after recovering an early break. Ebden said, "We're sitting here [having] won the title, but first-round we could have been out with one point."

Novak Djokovic delivered a remarkable return from a setback to beat Great Britain's Cameron Norrie in the Wimbledon semi-finals on July 8. The six-time Wimbledon winner advanced to the final after beating Norrie on Centre Court. Due to an abdominal strain, Spaniard Rafael Nadal was forced to withdraw before his game with Nick Kyrgios in the semi-final. The 35-year-old will play Nick Kyrgios in the final match on July 10.

Iga Swiatek Withdraws From Berlin Open Due To Shoulder Problem

Iga Swiatek, world No. 1 and current French Open champion, withdrew from Berlin Open on June 10 due to a shoulder ailment. She expects to be completely prepared for Wimbledon, which begins later this month. Swiatek won the French Open final against American Coco Gauff.
