Family Of 4 Thrashed, Forced To Eat Human Excreta For Practising Witchcraft: Jharkhand
In Jharkhand’s Dumka, four members of a family, including three women, were allegedly forced to consume human excreta, in a suspicion that the family was practising witchcraft. The incident occurred in Aswari village, and according to the police, the family was also tortured with a hit iron rod. The police further stated that the women were brutally thrashed and have been shifted to Saraiyahat Community Health Centre for treatment.

Elderly Woman Killed For Allegedly Practicing Witchcraft: Assam
In Assam's Kokrajhar district, an adivasi woman was killed on a suspicion that she was practicing witchcraft. The incident took place on July 23, in Bongaijora village Part-II in the district. According to the police, the 55-year-old woman was covered in a pool of blood in the verandah of her house. Three persons have been arrested in connection to the murder. Further investigation is underway.

Villagers Thrash Male Sorcerer, Force Him To Drink Urine: Odisha
In Odisha’s Bolangir district, a man was unlawfully beaten up and forced to drink urine for being supposedly accused of practicing sorcery. The sorcerer identified as Hadibandhu Bagarti, faced charges after few people in the village fell ill. Reportedly, the villagers dragged him from his house and thrashed him with sticks.
