Mumbai-based Wockhardt To Announce New Indian Vaccine In 2 Weeks

Indian pharmaceutical company Wockhardt has stated that it has secured a deal with the government for a new COVID vaccine, details of which will be announced in next two-weeks. Wockhardt chairman Habil Khorakiwala informed that the vaccine's production will start in October with a capacity of 500 million doses per year. However, name and price of the vaccine have not been disclosed yet.

Wockhardt Seeks Deal With Govt To Produce 2 Billion Vaccine Doses

Mumbai-based pharmaceutical company Wockhardt has approached the Centre for an opportunity to produce two billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine a year starting February 2022. Reportedly, the company is looking for partnership for vaccine production, and aims to produce 500 million doses in its first go. Besides, the planned two-billion doses will include different types of vaccines for "a more sustainable activity", as per the company's plan.
