Smriti Mandhana Records For 50+ Score, Creates History

Woman Cricketer Smriti Mandhana, on  August 4, set the record for the most 50 plus scores (5) in the Women’s Hundred. The Indian batter got to the feat while playing for the Southern Brave in their match against the Welsh Fire at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. Furthermore, Mandhana went past Jemimah in the match, as both Smriti and Jemimah were on the same level with fifties.

ICC Announces Changes In Law Of Cricket, In Effect From Oct 1

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced a few changes in playing manner, on September 20. In its release, ICC mentioned using saliva to polish ball during game is prohibited, incoming batter to face the ball, striker's right to play, unfair fielding by the movement side and many other playing conditions under the laws of cricket. The changes which will come into effect from October 1, were made by the cricket committee.

Ramesh Powar Back As Indian Women's Cricket Team Head Coach

Ramesh Powar, currently the head coach of Mumbai, has been appointed as the head coach of the Indian women's cricket team after a gap of two years. Powar, who entered a controversy after excluding Mithali Raj in the T20 World Cup semi-final, was the head coach until December 2018. Selected from eight interviewed candidates Powar will replace out-going coach WV Raman, ahead of India’s next month England Tour.

Mithali Becomes 1st Woman Cricketer To Cross 10,000 International Runs

Indian women's cricket team captain Mithali Raj, on March 12 became the first Indian women cricketer to secure 10,000 international runs. Second after England’s Charlotte Edwards, the 38-year-old cricketer achieved the feat during her 36 run innings against South Africa in third ODI played at Lucknow. With a total of 6974 runs in ODI, Mithali is just short of 36 runs to become the first ever women cricketer to reach the feat of 7000 runs.
