Women's IPL To Have 5 Teams In 2023 Game: Says Report

With the inaugural edition of the Women’s Indian Premier League (IPL), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering having five teams as well as permitting five overseas players in a playing XI. A Cricbuzz source confirmed, apart from these two, the tentative window for Women’s IPL is March 2023, scheduled after the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa, which is from February 10-26.

Most Awaited Women's IPL Likely In Feb 2023, Says BCCI President Ganguly

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly announced the women's Indian Premiere League (IPL) in 2023. Addressing the media on September 22, Ganguly said, " We are expecting Women's Indian Premier League in February next year." The event will be the first IPL for women in India and will be the most anticipated event, which Indian cricket fans, especially women cricket fans are waiting. The BCCI is working to organise the women's IPL.

BCCI To Conduct Women's IPL In March 2023

Women's IPL will begin in March 2023, with a one-month window and five to six clubs, a top BCCI official announced on August 12. The IPL will be held after the Women's T20 World Cup in South Africa. "As of now, we are going ahead with five teams but it could be six as there is a lot of interest among potential investors," he continued.
