Women's Reservation Bill Gets Approval Of President Murmu, Becomes Law
President of India Droupadi Murmu gave assent to the Women's Reservation Bill, which has now become a law. Tabled by the BJP-led Central Government, the Women's Reservation Bill was approved by the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha recently. After passing with a majority of 450 votes, the bill, ensuring 33% reservation for tirbals, SC/ST and OBC women in politics, was sent to the President of India for her approval.

Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi Says This On Women's Reservation Bill
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on September 22, demanded that the women's reservation bill be implemented immediately and alleged that the government does not want to do this while distracting from the demand for caste census. The Women's Reservation Bill is a good thing, but two "footnotes" of census and delimitation have been attached, Gandhi told a press conference here a day after the Women's reservation bill was passed by Parliament.

Women's Reservation Bill Passed In Lok Sabha With 455 Votes
The Women's Reservation Bill, introduced in the special parliament session by the Union Law Minister, finally was passed in the Lok Sabha, on September 20. The bill, aiming to provide 33% quota to women belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and other Backward Class in the Lok Sabha and assembly seats, has been passed with 455 MPs votes. The bill now will be tabled in Rajya Sabha.

Sonia Gandhi To Open Debate Over Women's Reservation Bill In Lok Sabha
Sonia Gandhi, the former President of the Indian National Congress (INC) will open the debate in the Lok Sabha session and will discuss the Women's Reservation Bill. Notably, the Congress is raising claims that tabled by Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and the BJP Government, the idea was of Congress. The bill which is yet to be approved and pass will provide 33% reservation to women in politics.

The Congress' parliamentary party chief Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday said the women's reservation bill "is ours", amid speculation that the bill may be tabled in Parliament. The Congress on Monday said it welcomed the reported move as the party has been raising the demand for long. Asked about the bill when she was entering Parliament on Tuesday, Mrs Gandhi said, "It is ours, apna hai."

PM Narendra Modi urged all the Members of Parliament (MPs) in the Parliament to pass the Women's Reservation Bill unanimously. BRS MPs Move Adjournment Motion In Parliament
The BRS MPs moved an adjournment motion in the ongoing parliament session, on March 28. As per sources, the BRS leaders in the house are demanding tabling and discussion over the Women's Reservation Bill. Earlier, the BRS MLC K Kavitha also held a day-long sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar, Delhi, demanding the Central Government to introduce the Women's, Reservation Bill. K Kavitha To Hold 12 Hour Long Hunger Strike In Delhi
Senior BRS leader and Nizamabad MLC K Kavitha is set to hold 12 hours, hunger strike in Delhi.
