Punjab Government Announces Ban On Single-Use Plastic Beginning From July

Punjab government stated on June 5 single-use plastic will be banned beginning in July. The declaration was made by Secretary of State for Science, Technology, and Environment Rahul Tewari at a virtual state-level gathering to commemorate World Environment Day. 1 Lakh Saplings To Be Planted On Environment Day in Assam's Golaghat

On the occasion of World Environment Day, villagers of Dhansiri area in Assam's Golaghat district have joined hands with the Forest Department and Administration to plant one lakh saplings, on June 5. Reportedly, the saplings will be planted in the Tengani Dui Noi Mukh area. Sarupathar constituency MLA Biswajit Phukan said that they have planned to plant at least 15 lakh saplings during his tenure.

Kerala: Boys Group Plant Marijuana To Mark World Environment Day

A group of youths planted Cannabis saplings to mark the World Environment Day on the side of a road in Kollam, Kerala. Reportedly, the plantation and posing with plants was noticed by a neighbour who informed the relevant authorities.
