Israeli officials discovered the first case of monkeypox in a guy returning from overseas. Anyone returning from overseas with a fever and lesions should contact a doctor, as recommended by the Health Ministry. Other possible monkeypox cases are being investigated by medical personnel. The case in Israel is the first in the Middle East. Around 80 cases have been confirmed by the World Health Organization, with another 50 suspected cases.

Senior advisor to the World Health Organisation, Bruce Aylward, stated that, US, India and China have consumed 60% of the two billion COVID-19 vaccines doses distributed globally. The WHO spokesperson Tarik Jasarevic said that less than 15% of COVID-19 infected people in India need admission to the hospital and even a few require oxygen support. Tarik said, one of the reasons for increasing COVID-19 cases in India is 'many people rush to the hospital, even though home-based care monitoring at home can be managed very safely’. He also suggested community-level centres to screen and advice home care.
