Disease X Can Cause Another Pandemic, Says Expert

A UK health expert said that Disease X, the name of the World Health Organisation (WHO), can cause another pandemic deadlier than Covid-19. In an interview to Daily Mail, Kate Bingham, who served as the chair of the UK's Vaccine Taskforce from May to December 2020, said the new virus could have a similar impact to the devastating pandemic. According to WHO, Disease X could be a new agent.

First Case Of Monkeypox Discovered In Israel

Israeli officials discovered the first case of monkeypox in a guy returning from overseas. Anyone returning from overseas with a fever and lesions should contact a doctor, as recommended by the Health Ministry. Other possible monkeypox cases are being investigated by medical personnel. The case in Israel is the first in the Middle East. Around 80 cases have been confirmed by the World Health Organization, with another 50 suspected cases.

WHO Says Rush To Hospital, Gatherings Worsening COVID Situation In India

The WHO spokesperson Tarik Jasarevic said that less than 15% of COVID-19 infected people in India need admission to the hospital and even a few require oxygen support. Tarik said, one of the reasons for increasing COVID-19 cases in India is 'many people rush to the hospital, even though home-based care monitoring at home can be managed very safely’.
