Romania To Feature World War I Female Officer On New Banknote

The Central Bank of Romania on November 26 launched a new banknote celebrating World War I Lieutenant Ecaterina Teodoroiu. Reportedly, She's the first female name depicted on Romanian money. The new 20 lei ($4.56) note will be in circulation from December. Notably, Teodoroiu initially served as a nurse during the war before dying in 1917. "By honouring her, we also celebrate the Romanian army," said Governor Mugur Isarescu.

UK Seeks Forgiveness For Not Commemorating Indian Army Martyrs Of WW1
