Russian Sumo Wrestler & Guinness World Record Holder Dies At 21

Dzhambulat Khatokhov, a Russian sumo and Guinness world record holder for the heaviest kid in 2003, passed away at the age of 21 due to prolonged illness. His death was confirmed by a regional sports official. However, the proximate cause was not determined but a regional newspaper suspicioned he died of kidney disorder. Khatokhov who weighed 34 kg at the age of 2, increased to 108 kg by the time he reached 13.

Wrestling Federation Of India Pushes National Championship To January 2021

Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Wrestling Championship, which was scheduled for December 18-20 in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district, has been postponed by the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI). The tournament is now expected to be held towards the end of January next year. The federation can also change the venue of the tournament if other states show willingness in hosting it.

Mission Olympic Cell Agrees To Fund For Bajrang Punia's Training at US

Indian Wrestler Bajrang Punia received an approval for one-month training camp at the Michigan's Cliff Keen Wrestling Club, U.S. Acccording to a press release, the decision came after a meeting conducted by the Mission Olympic Cellon on November 26. Reportedly, the camp is expected to cost around Rs.14 lakhs and is scheduled from December 4. The wrestler will travel to US with his coach Emzarios Bentinidis and physiologist Dhananjay.
