Anshu Malik Wins India's First Silver At World Championships 2021
Anshu Malik on October 7 made India proud as she became the first Indian woman to win a silver medal at the World Wrestling Championship 2021 in Norway's Oslo in the 57 kg event. Meanwhile, the USA's Helen Marlouis won the gold medal. Besides, Wrestler Sarita Mor won a bronze medal in the women's 59kg category. Tokyo Olympics: Wrestler Bajrang Punia Wins Historic Bronze For India
Indian Wrestler Bajrang Punia defeated Daulet Niyazbekov of Kazakhstan 8:0 to clinch the bronze medal for India and equal India's best Olympic performance to the 2012 London Olympics. After dominating the entire game against reigning World silver medalist Niyazbekov, Punia impressed with a stunning 8-0 win. The former Asian Games gold medalist lost his semi-final on August 7. This is the fourth bronze for India.

Tokyo Olympics: Indian Wrestler Bajrang Punia To Fight For Bronze
Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia has lost the semi-final against Azerbaijan’s Haji Aliyev in 5-12 in men’s freestyle 65 category at Tokyo Olympics on August 6. Punia will be further fighting for bronze against Russia's Gadzhimurad Rashidov. Meanwhile, golfer Aditi Ashok is placed at the second after the culmination of three rounds. Priyanka Goswami finished at the 17th position in the 20km race walk final.

Winner of three medals at the World Wrestling Championships Bajrang Punia of India qualified for the semi-finals of the Men's Freestyle 65kg Division after defeating Morteza Ghiasi of Iran in the quarterfinals. Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s loss to Belarus' Vanesa Kaladzinskaya in the women’s 53kg quarter-final ended her journey on acquiring gold at Tokyo Olympics. However, there is no update on whether his demand will be accepted or not. Delhi Court Rejects Wrestler Sushil Kumar's Request Of Special Diet
A Delhi Court on June 9 rejected wrestler Sushil Kumar's request of getting a special diet and supplements in the jail. Terming the demands as "desires and wishes" and not necessities, the Court stated, "The law should be equal and should be equally administered." Arrested for allegedly murdering a fellow wrestler, Sushil had demanded a special diet in the jail, stating that he was preparing for competitions.

Wrestler Sumit Malik Fined For Failing Dope Test, Loses Olympics Berth
Indian freestyle wrestler Sumit Malik (125kg category) is likely to be fined Rs 16 lakh for a failed dope test taken during the Olympic qualifiers held in Bulgaria in May. With methylhexanamine found in his urine sample, Malik has already lost his place in the Tokyo Olympics. He has been suspended provisionally for six months, and faces the threat of a lifetime ban in case of being proven guilty.

Delhi Court Issues Non-bailable Warrant Against Wrestler Sushil Kumar
Wrestler Sushil Kumar and 6 others have been slapped with a non-bailable warrant in connection with a murder case. A Delhi Court on May 15 accepted the police's request, issuing the warrant. The police had already issued a lookout notice against Kumar after a wrestler was killed in Delhi's Chhatrasal Stadium. While Kumar is still absconding, the police have been conducting raids at several places in Delhi-NCR and nearby states.
