China's Wuhan Market Is Source Of COVID-19: US Study

The first case of the SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19 was a market vendor at Huanan Market in China's Wuhan, said a US study on November 18. So far, it was thought that an accountant was the source of the virus and his symptoms were found on December 16. However, the study reported that, before the accountant, vendors at the market were diagnosed with a similar ''illness onset 11 December''.

India's 1st COVID-19 Patient Tests Positive For The Virus Again

The medical student who was the first known case of COVID-19 in India has again been tested Covid positive after January 30, 2020 in Kerala’s Thrissur. Reportedly, she underwent the RT-PCR test as she wanted to fly to Delhi but was found positive. According to medical authorities, she is asymptomatic. Besides, she is yet to receive her first doze of vaccine.

Wuhan Lab Nominated For Science Award In China

The lab suspected of leaking Covid-19 has been nominated for China's top science award. The Chinese Academy of Sciences has nominated the Wuhan lab for the "Outstanding Science and Technology Achievement Prize" in 2021. The contentious laboratory has been appreciated for "the most extensive empirical characterization study on the aetiology of COVID-19." The head of the lab also received a special mention.

Wuhan: 11,000 Alumni Gather To Celebrate Graduation 2020 

Over 11,000 students gathered in Wuhan University to celebrate their graduation for the year 2020, which did not occur offline due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Students shed off their masks and sat without social distancing. The University welcomed the students with a sign that read: "Welcoming the graduates of 2020 back home. We wish you all a great future".

WHO Team Visits China's Wuhan Market; First Visit After COVID Outbreak

A WHO team on January 31 visited Huanan seafood market in China's Wuhan to trace the origin of coronavirus. The market has been sealed since January 2020 following the COVID-19 outbreak that has killed over two million people globally. Reportedly, the long-stalled visit was closely monitored by the Chinese authorities as well. Wuhan Houses 3 Times More COVID-infected People Than Recorded: Study

A medical study conducted in China has revealed that the real COVID figures of Wuhan could be three times more than that recorded in May 2020. Around 63,107 blood samples were collected by the researchers, out of which 1.68% already had anti-bodies for the coronavirus.  However, only one-third of the infected patients needed medical attention and hospitalization, indicating that around 2/3 of the infected people in Wuhan were asymptomatic.… read-more
