World Radiography Day 2021: Here's What You Need To Know
World Radiography Day is observed every year on November 8 to create awareness about the value of radiology and its contribution towards the welfare of the patients. Radiology Day also recognises the radiographers from around the world and promotes radiography as a career, as well as a significant contributor to modern healthcare. It was originally commemorated on the anniversary of Wilhelm Roentgen's discovery of X-rays.

A Man Detained For Concealing Gold Paste In Rectum By CISF At Imphal Airport
The CISF detained Mohammed Shereef at the Manipur's Imphal Airport, on September 27, for concealing gold paste weighing over 900 gm and worth Rs 42 lakh in his rectum. The CISF officers brought him to the Medical Examination Room for an X-Ray of his lower body after becoming suspicious of his behaviour and responses. The X-Ray revealed hidden metallic objects within his body cavities.

India: Two Zambian Men Held For Smuggling Heroin Worth Rs. 7.36 Cr
Two Zambian men were held at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi for allegedly smuggling heroin worth Rs 7.36 crore into India on July 7. The accused were arrested on their arrival from Johannesburg via Addis Ababa on June 27. The men concealed the drug in capsule-like substances inside their abdomen. A total of 106 capsules of 1.05kg of heroin were recovered.

DRDO, CAIR Develop AI Algorithm To Detect COVID-19 Through X-Rays
The DRDO and Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics CAIR have developed an AI algorithm that helps in detecting COVID-19 through chest X-rays. 'The tool named ‘Atman AI’ will help in automatically detecting radiological findings indicative of COVID-19 in seconds' with an accuracy rate of 96.73%. NASA Detects First X-rays From Uranus; Origin Undetected
