7-Member Team To Visit Bengal To Review Damages By Cyclone Yaas

A central team of seven members will visit West Bengal on June 6to examine the damage caused by cyclone Yaas. In a three-day visit, the inter-ministerial team will assess the affected areas of South 24 Parganas district, followed by a meeting with officials. Reportedly, the team will also visit Digha and Mandarmani in Purba Medinpur. As per reports, the team will also hold meeting with finance department officials.

IMD Issues Red-Coded Warning As Cyclone Yaas Turns Into Very Severe

The India Meterological Department has warned that cyclone 'Yaas' has turned into 'very severe storm' on May 25 and issued a red-coded warning to the coastal areas of Odisha and West Bengal. Reportedly, more than 12 lakh people have been shifted from the coasts to storm shelters in Jharkhand, Odisha and Bengal till now. The IMD informed that the cyclone can gain a speed of 185 kmph during landfall.
