Yogi Govt. To Rename Yamuna Expressway After Vajpayee

The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh is likely to change the name of Yamuna Expressway after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The announcement for the same is expected to come on November 25. PM Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Noida International Airport in Jewar, according to Hindustan Times. Earlier in 2018, the Ekana International Cricket Stadium was also named after the former PM Vajpayee.

First Handicraft Park Will Be Set Up By Yogi Government

The Uttar Pradesh government under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme will be constructing the state's maiden handicrafts park in sector 29 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YIEDA). The total cost of setting up the park is estimated to be Rs 403 crore. 76 industrialists from different sectors will set up factories in the 50 acres of land area, thus providing permanent jobs to 22,144 people in the state.

Bus Passengers Robbed On Yamuna Expressway At Midnight

Unknown people pretending to be passengers looted a bus travelling from Delhi to Hamirpur via the Yamuna Expressway on April 6. Reportedly, those people got on the bus at 12:30 am, fought with the conductor and robbed valuables worth Rs 1.66 lakhs including mobile phones. Moreover, the group also had a gun with them. The police are investigating the matter with forensic teams and dog squads.

Woman Raped in Private Bus Travelling From Lucknow to Delhi

A woman, while traveling to her home in Delhi from Lucknow on August 29, was allegedly raped by a cleaner inside a private bus. According to the police, "She called the 112 helpline on August 29 morning when the bus reached Mant toll plaza in Mathura and informed us about the rape by the bus cleaner."  Reportedly, the woman underwent a medical examination and the accused has been arrested.
