Thunderstorm Anticipated On August 15 To End UK Heatwave

United Kingdom heatwave is likely to stop on August 15, according to Met Office forecasts. Except for the north of Scotland, the Met Office has issued yellow alerts for thunderstorms until August 16. The Met Office predicts that rain will fall on the ground and flow off, perhaps causing flash floods. Central Meteorological Department Issues Heavy Rain, Thunder Alert For Next 5 Days In Kerala

Kerala has received a yellow alert from Central Meteorological Department for July 8 and July 9. For the next five days, Kerala is under a severe rain and thunder alert. A red alert has been issued near Lower Periyar and Kallarkutty dams, orange alert near Peringalkuth dam, and blue alert near Kuttiadi Dam. National Disaster Response Force has sent teams to several areas in response to the heavy rain warning.

IMD Issues Yellow Alert Amid Heat Waves In Delhi, Likely To Cross 44 Degrees

Amid the heat waves, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a "Yellow Alert" in the national capital, Delhi, on April 27.  Notably, the Safdarjung Observatory, Delhi's base station recorded a maximum temperature of 40.8 degrees Celsius, which is expected to breach the 42 degrees and 44 degrees by April 28. The IMD added, that the temperature can rise to 46 degrees Celsius and urged people to be cautious.

Gujarat Experiences Record-breaking Heat Waves; IMD Issues Yellow Alert

Gujarat is likely to witness record-breaking heat waves, due to which, IMD issued yellow alert over the state. Earlier on March 16, Gujarat recorded a temperature of 40° Celsius, the highest in 20 years. Meanwhile, on March 15, Ahmedabad and Surendranagar recorded a maximum temperature of 41.5° and 41.7° Celsius, respectively. "There may be an increase in summer temperatures in Gujarat for the next few days," said Manorama Mohanty.

IMD Issues Heat Waves Alert For Mumbai, Thane For Next 72 Hours

Heatwave conditions are likely to occur at isolated parts of Mumbai, North Konkan, Thane, and Raigad on March 14, and a yellow alert has also been issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). On March 14, Santacruz recorded a maximum temperature of 38.6° Celsius, Colaba recorded 37.6° Celsius. Earlier, on March 13, Mumbai recorded 22.5° Celsius and it is expected to stay for the next three to four days.
