Akali Dal Chief Sukhbir Badal, on June 14 was detained for protesting outside Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh's farmhouse. The Akali's demanded the dismissal of Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu and to initiate CBI's investigation in the sale of vaccines and covid kits. They also raised a demand for the acquisition of land at market rates and alleged that the government has been gaining benefits from the pandemic misery.
