Andhra Pradesh Approves Formation Of 13 New Districts, Takes Total To 26
The Andhra Pradesh Government on January 25, created 13 new districts and issued a new official gazette notification under AP Districts Formation Act, Section 3(5). Kurnool Airport In Andhra Named After Freedom Fighter Uyyalawada Reddy

ED Court Issues Summon To Andhra CM Jagan Reddy In Bribery Case
In an alleged bribery case, a special Enforcement Directorate (ED) court has summoned Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy to appear before it on January 11. The notice was issued in the 150-acre land allotment case to seven pharma companies who invested in CM Jagan's media firm in return for the allotment. The court also handed summons to YSR Congress’ Y Vijayasai Reddy and directors of the companies.

Andhra Pradesh: High Court Seeks Evidence on Phone Tapping Allegations
On August 18, a petition was filed in the Andhra Pradesh High Court (HC) alleging that the phones of the High Court judges were illegally being tapped, and their movements were being monitored. The HC asked the petitioner to provide evidence supporting the claim, and also instructed the state government and the telecom service providers to probe into the matter.

TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu Accuses Andhra Govt of Tapping Phones
Former Andhra Pradesh CM, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu on August 17 wrote to PM Modi and demanded probe into the alleged phone tapping by the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government in the state . He claimed that the state government was tapping phones of the opposition leaders, advocates, journalists and social activists. He further stated that the act of phone-tapping is violating the right to privacy guaranteed in the Constitution.
