SC Orders Punjab & Haryana To Stop Stubble Burning Amid Pollution
The Supreme Court in its order has directed that the state governments of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi to ensure that crop burning is stopped, for which a meeting will be convened tomorrow. It also added that the local Station House Officer (SHO) will be responsible for it under the overall supervision of the Chief Secretary. The decisiion after the Delhi AQI worsened.

Delhi: Air Quality In 'Very Poor' Category, CM Announces Pollution Lockdown
Delhi's air quality was reported to be improved marginally as the air quality reached the 'very poor' category. Reportedly, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in the national capital was recorded at 386 (overall) on November 14 as per the System of Air Quality Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR). To tackle increasing pollution, Delhi Chief Minister announced a 'pollution lockdown' from November 15.

Delhi Govt To Ban Diesel Generators & Hike Parking Fees To Curb Pollution
Delhi Government on November 9 issued directions to ban diesel generators and hike parking fees in the entire city. Farmers Demand Rs 7K Per Acre To Stop Stubble Burning: Punjab
Famers in Punjab demanded 7,000 rupees compensation per acre to stop stubble burning. Reportedly, farmers are burning their stubble in their fields due to the non-availability of better options. Moreover, farmers alleged saying ''propaganda is being run against'' them. "We are burning stubble because we are helpless. To stop this practice government should provide compensation," said a farmer named Darshan to ANI.

Air Quality Continues To Remain In Severe Category: Delhi
Delhi's air quality was recorded to remain in the "severe category" with Air Quality Index (AQI) registering at 436. Reportedly, the city's air quality deteriorated to hazardous after the night of Diwali. AQI in certain regions was reported to cross 600 in the city, according to the reports. Besides, the continued stubble burning in the nearby states will further keep the city in a hazardous category, say reports.

Firecrackers & Stubble Burning Responsible For Heavy Pollution: Delhi Minister
Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai on November 5, said that the sudden increase in using firecrackers and stubble burning are the two major reasons for "heavy" pollution in Delhi. Reportedly, the minister installed an anti-smog gun to improve the air quality in the national capital. According to NASA's pictures, there are almost 3,500 stubble burning incidents taking place in the neighbouring states, he said in a press meet.
