Google To Soon Track Heart Rate, Respiratory Rate Through Cameras
Google is set to unveil additional features in its Google Fit app next month for tracking heart rate and respiratory rate through smartphone cameras. The camera lens will detect colour variations in the fingertip to analyse pulse while a computer vision technique, 'optical flow', will examine chest movements to illustrate respiratory rate. Initially, the feature will be available exclusively for Pixel phones, though Google plans on extending it to other Android phones in the future.
