President Emmanuel Macron Loses Overall Majority In French Legislative Elections
President Emmanuel Macron loses an absolute majority as the newly established left-wing alliance government gains a majority on June 20. In the second round of parliamentary elections, Macron's centrist coalition, Ensemble (Together), defeated the New Popular Environmentalist and Social Union (Nupes). Macron becomes the first incumbent French president since a 2000 election reform to lose a legislative majority as a result of the new outcome.
