PM Narendra Modi Virtually Inaugurates Agra Metro Construction
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has virtually inaugurated the Agra Metro Project's construction on December 7. In his speech, the PM has emphasized on Agra's ancient identity and said that Rs 1000 crore has been allotted to develop Agra as a smart city. PM Modi added that the new metro project worth Rs 8379 crore will strengthen the city's intent to flourish. Moreover, the Prime Minister noted that the previous governments, though projects have been announced, have not regularly allotted the funds. PM Modi stated that even metro coaches are being built in India under the 'Make In India' scheme. UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Governor Anandiben Patel also participated in the ceremony. Reportedly, the double-corridor project stretching to a length of 29.4 kilometres will connect the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Sikandra with rail and bus terminus.
