Olympics: PETA Writes To IOC, Calls For Removal Of Equestrian Events
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have advised the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the termination of equestrian games in the future events of the Olympics. "The world was shocked when a visibly upset German pentathlon competitor, Annika Schleu, was filmed spurring and whipping the horse Saint Boy after he refused to enter the course," PETA wrote to IOC president Thomas Bach. German coach Kim Raisner also hit the horse.
