Walt Disney Remembers Chadwick Boseman; Adds 30-Sec Clip In 'Black Panther'

Walt Disney has honored the late actor Chadwick Boseman on his 44th birthday by adding a 30-second credit scene in his much acclaimed movie 'Black Panther'. The clip added on Disney+ stream is a montage of Boseman in his most memorable performance as King T'Challa. Moreover, Marvel Studios has shared the video on social media captioning it "Long live the King. #WakandaForever." Reportedly, Boseman died of cancer in August 2020.

Pandemic Stricken Disney Calls To Discharge 32,000 Employees In 2021

Due to less foot-fall in its theme parks, Walt Disney announced on November 25 that it would discharge 32,000 employees. The company, in a regulatory filing, has informed that the retrenchment would be in the first half of 2021, primarily targeting the theme park workers. However, the company did not confirm whether the earlier announced 28,000 workers' layoff list has been included in the recently released list.

Disney has postponed the release of its two movies, 'Free Guy' and 'Death On The Nile' to probably mid or end of 2021. Earlier set to release in December 2020, no fresh dates have been provided by the studio as of now. Disney Announces 'The Lion King’ Sequel

Disney has officially announced a sequel to their 2019 film 'The Lion King', to be directed by Barry Jenkins. The second instalment will be made using photorealistic technology, like the first one. Jeff Nathanson, who penned the first part, has finalized the script for the sequel. Reportedly, the film will focus on mythology of characters and Mufasa's origin story. The cast and release date are yet to be announced.

American actor Yara Shahidi of ‘Black-ish’ fame is set to star as Tinkerbell in Disney's live-action film ‘Peter Pan’, based on the studio’s 1953 animation film. She will join Jude Law, who plays Captain Hook, Alexandra Molony as Peter, and Ever Anderson as Wendy. The script of the movie is written by Toby Halbrooks along with director David Lowery.
