Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that Assam's Chirang police rescued 42 children from Sikkim who were trafficked from the state. Reportedly, two people have been arrested for the crime who lured each child's parents promising a good education but they sold the children as domestic helpers. The Rachakonda Police Operations Special Team seized 320 kg of marijuana worth Rs 40 lakh from an alleged peddler, M. Raj Kumar, in Telangana's Saroornagar district. According to the police, the drug was being smuggled and transported from Andhra Pradesh to Karnataka through Hyderabad. The 28-year-old accused aimed to transport 152 sachets concealed under empty fruit trays. Besides, each kilogram was reported to be sold at Rs 10,000.

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested by the police under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012, for impregnating a minor girl in Tamil Nadu's Melur. Reportedly, the boy and the girl were classmates in a nearby school and infatuated with each other thus involved in a physical relationship without knowing the implication. Later the girl complained of ill health, resulting in the revelation of the truth.

At Venkatagiri town of Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore district, a 14-year-old girl was raped by her stepfather. The incident was witnessed by her 10-year-old brother on July 18, who screamed for help. The incident has been occurring for the last six months. Venkatagiri police have been on the search of the accused who managed to flee. The accused has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual offences Act, 2012.

Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, an acting cabinet minister of the Assembly of South Africa, informed that the ongoing riots have cost the lives of at least 276, linked to the arrest of former president Jacob Zuma. The police are investigating 168 cases of murder, arson, and looting. Zuma was arrested after the constitutional court found him guilty of corruption accusations. He is to serve a 15-month prison sentence.
Notably, the businessman Raj Kundra who has been arrested for the porn films racket on July 19 was reported to bride the Mumbai Police’s Crime branch officials with Rs 25 lakh to avoid arrest. Arvind Srivastava, also known as Yash Thakur has mailed a complaint to the Anti-Corruption Bureau in March regarding the same. Initially, the case was registered in February 2021. Besides, Kundra will remain in custody till July 23.

An FIR against senior IPS Param Bir Singh, five more police officers, and two others for extortion by the Mumbai Police said an official on July 22. In exchange for withdrawing cases against him, the accused allegedly demanded Rs 15 crores from a builder who then registered a complaint at the Marine Drive Police Station.
