Honda launched its new Activa 125 Premium Edition scooter in India on December 7. The new Activa features a 124cc, single-cylinder engine that generates 8.1bhp. The company also offers Drum Alloy and Disc variants with a price of Rs 78,725 and Rs 82,280, respectively. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the WHO Chief slammed countries for continuing direct flight ban to Africa, the origin of Covid-19's new variant Omicron. The WHO, on December 5, condemned the travel ban imposed amid Omicron scare and criticised nations for not accepting negative Covid-19 reports of South Africa and demanding "Third Country Report." Travel bans targeting Africa is attack on global solidarity, said WHO.
Upgraded with additional safety airbags for front passenger, Maruti Eeco prices have hiked by Rs 8,000. With the safety upgrade, Maruti Eeco will now comply with the safety guidelines (frontal offset crash regulations) of Indian Government. Notably, Indian Government calls for dual airbags in cars, from January 2022. Besides dual airbags, no other changes have been made in Maruti Eeco, which is available for Rs 4.33 to 5.68 lakh.

Ather Energy, on November 29, stated that a second manufacturing facility will be set up to scale up the production. Reportedly, by 2022 the new plant will be operational in Hosur. In light of the growing demand for EVs in India, Ather Energy has decided to increase the production from 1,20,000 to 4,00,000 units. Ather currently comes in two variants- 450X and 450 Plus.

Suzuki unveiled its new car the 2022 S-Cross with key details via the first set of official pictures. The car is equipped with a 1.4-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that generates 125bhp and a peak torque of 235 Nm. Reportedly, it can reach 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds. It also comes with an automatic gearbox option, Apple CarPlay connectivity, three-points LED headlights and more.

France-based company Renault is working on its first flying car Renault AIR4 to make its public debut in the coming week. The car without wheels is equipped with four two-blade propellers. It's powered by Lithium Polymer batteries with a total capacity of 90,000 mAh. It can go as high as 700 metres and provides a horizontal top speed of 93.6 km/h. Reportedly, it will be launched in January in America.

Old diesel vehicles can now be modified with electric kits, said Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot. Apple has been reported to accelerate the development of its electric car and is refocusing the project on full self-driving capabilities. According to reports, Apple's automobile team is considering two options: a model with limited self-driving skills similar to present cars, and a model with full self-driving capability that does not require human intervention. The company is aiming to debut its car within four years, showed reports.

The all-new Skoda Slavia compact sedan made its global debut in India on November 18. According to reports, the car is based on the company's localised MQB-A0-IN platform, officially replaces the Rapid sedan.
