Centre Allows ITBP To Build 47 Border Outposts Along LAC
Union government has allowed Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) to build 47 border outposts along the LAC. In addition, Home Ministry has also approved procurement of "special clothing" and "equipment" required for high-altitude locations. Addressing on ITBP's 59th Raising Day, Union Minister GK Reddy remarked that recent incidents "have broken the myth of some countries of having a powerful army". ITBP guards the 3,488-km-long border running from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh.
