Veteran Bengali Actor Pradip Mukherjee Passes Away At 76

Veteran Bengali actor Pradip Mukherjee, who was admitted to the hospital for a lung infection, passed away on August 29. The 76-year-old actor was undergoing treatment at a private hospital for a lung infection and was later shifted to a state-run hospital. Mukherjee gained the character of the protagonist in Satyajit Ray's 'Jana Aranya' (The Middleman). Furthermore, Mukherjee is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter

Bengali Veteran Actor Soumitra Chatterjee Passes Away at 85

Dada Saheb Phalke laureate, Soumitra Chatterjee (85) passed away on November 15 in Kolkata due to Covid encephalopathy. The actor had a 61-year career in the film industry. His movies and play plots were mainly from Bangladesh's creation, Bengal's history, emergency and rise of Marxism. He was also felicitated by Sangeet Natak Akademi, Padma Bhushan, National film Award and French Legion of Honour Award while refusing Padma Shree twice.

Veteran Actor Soumitra Chatterjee on Ventilator Support

Veteran Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee has been put on ventilator support after his health conditions deteoriated on October 26. The spokesperson of the private health centre in Kolkata announced that his platelet count and haemoglobin has gone done. The 85-year-old actor has undergone endotracheal intubation to protect his airway. Earlier, on October 6, the actor had tested COVID-19 positive and admitted to a hospital.

Octogenarian Bengali Actor Soumitra Chatterjee Tests COVID-19 Positive

Veteran Bengali actor, Soumitra Chatterjee has been diagnosed with COVID-19, on October 6. Reportedly, the 85-year-old actor who is admitted at the Belle Vue hospital in Kolkata, has mild fever. However, his condition is said to be stable. Soumitra Chatterjee who had made his debut in 1959, with the movie 'Apur Sansar', went on to win Padma Bhushan and Dada Saheb Phalke Award.
