104-Year-Old Man Who Hoped Receiving Indian Citizenship Passes Away
Struggling to assert Indian citizenship, 104-year-old Chandradhar Das from Assam’s Cachar District passed away on December 13. Chandradhar, who was declared ‘foreigner’ by the Foreigners’ Tribunal, hoped to receive citizenship through the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), 2019. 18 Assam Organizations Gather As Anti-CAA Protests Resume
Nearly 18 organisations including student unions have raised protests in the Assam against the enactment of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The protests have been joined by North East Students Organisation (NESO), All Assam Students Union and Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti.
