Villagers Burn Accused Murderer Alive After Public Hearing Verdict, Arrested
In Assam's Nagaon, a man was burnt alive following a verdict by a village kangaroo court, on July 10. Identified as Ranjit Bordoloi (35) he allegedly killed a woman (22) and was later set ablaze by villagers, confirmed d SP Leena Doley. Furthermore, villagers dragged Ranjit out of his home, tied him to a tree and conducted the hearing of the 'gram sabha', following which he was set on fire.
