Punjab Eases Restrictions As It Allows Bars In Hotels To Re-open

The Punjab government has given permission to hotel bars, shopping malls and multiplexes to reopen. However, the order, which was issued on November 9, will be applied on only those places that fall outside the containment zones. A government spokesperson said that the management of all these commercial establishments must conduct their operations by following all the health guidelines issued by the authorities.

Shimla: Fire Breaks Out In Hotel, Damages Property

In the late hours of October 28, Shimla's 'Hotel Capital' witnessed a huge fire in three rooms. Reportedly, the firefighters rushed to the spot with five firefighting vehicles. The operation, which was performed by over 40 personnel, was successful in extinguishing the fire. However, no casualties have been reported as of now but the fire is said to have caused a loss of Rs two lakh.

Indian Tourism Industry Estimated to Lose Rs 5 Lakh Crore

Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and Hotelivate, in its report stated, Indian Travel and Tourism Industry is estimated to lose Rs 5 Lakh Crore. The pandemic and the continuous shutdowns were being reasoned for the loss. The report stated, "This is one of the worst crises ever to hit the Indian tourism industry impacting all its geographical segments." March reported the least, 7 per cent occupancies due to the lockdown.

Unlock 4.0: Tourists And Devotees Traveling To Tamil Nadu Will Require Travel Pass

As per Unlock 4.0 Guidelines, the Tamil Nadu Government has granted relaxatation on the imposed restrictions. Religious places and hotels are now allowed to re-open, but will have to follow the guidelines as per the SOP. "Passenger trains and inter-state buses will resume from September 7," Tamil Nadu CM, K Palaniswami confirmed. However, the passengers traveling to TN via train or flight will still require travel pass.

Fire breaks at COVID facility centre in Andhra; 9 people found dead

A fire broke out at Swarna Palace hotel on August 9, which was a COVID-19 facility centre at Vijaywada, Andhra Pradesh. Nine Coronavirus patients were found dead among the 30 residing there. The officials said 'The fire broke out at 5 am, and everything was brought under control within 30 minutes'. The fire had started from the ground floor and spread to the other floors.
