Admiral R Hari Kumar Becomes New Chief Of The Indian Navy

Admiral R Hari Kumar became the new Indian Navy chief on November 30 after the retirement of Admiral Karambir Singh. Before his joining, Kumar held the position of the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command. He joined the Navy on January 1, 1983. He's known for working as a commander on INS Nishak, guided-missile corvette INS Kora, guided-missile Destroyer INS Ranvir, and aircraft carrier INS Virat.

Navy Chief Commissions INS Vela Submarine To Indian Navy: Mumbai

INS Vela submarine has been commissioned to Indian Navy, on November 25. Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh commissioned the new submarine in Mumbai. The new INS Vela Is expected to enhance the strength of the Indian Navy, with an ability to carry out an "entire spectrum of submarine operations." Notably, India has two INS Vela submarines, one in Visakhapatnam and now in Mumbai, to guard India's maritime interests.
