Queen Elizabeth II Refuses To Take 'The Oldie Of The Year Award'

Queen Elizabeth II, 95, declined to receive the 'Oldie of the Year award', stating she does not meet the qualifications. Reportedly, the award every year goes to people from past generations who've made important contributions to public life in the United Kingdom. However, French-American actress and dancer, Leslie Caron, who's five years younger than the Queen was named 'Oldie of the Year' after the Queen refused the award.

Queen Elizabeth II's Funeral Plan Gets Leaked: Operation London Bridge

It was reported through leaked documents that Britain's Queen Elizabeth II's death would carry out a major-operation under codename "Operation London Bridge" on September 3. Officials will refer to the day of the Queen's death as "D Day," as per a report by a US-based news organisation "Politico". In days running up to her funeral, large crowds and transport disruptions are expected, therefore a big security operation has been prepared.

Prince Philip passed away at the age of 99, United Kingdom will observe a 30-day mourning

In the early morning hours of April 9, the Duke of Edinburgh, His Royal Highness Prince Philip passed away peacefully in Windsor Castle. He was 99 years old and was the longest-reigning consort in the monarchy having married Queen Elizabeth in 1947. The country will observe a 30-day mourning period before the Queen can resume her public duties. He officially retired from royal duties in May 2020 after 22,219 solo engagements.

Queen Elizabeth Honours Marcus Rashford With MBE For School Meals Campaign

Queen Elizabeth II has honoured Manchester United footballer Marcus Rashford with Member of the Order of the British Empire for his contribution towards ensuring school meals for children during the COVID pandemic. Reportedly, he campaigned to extend the supply of free school meals, and raised  £20 million for the cause. Rashford said, "I feel like I'm still at the beginning of the journey that I set out to achieve."
