Bollywood actor Salman Khan met Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar at the latter's office in south Mumbai, on July 22. The visit was said to be a courtesy one, and has nothing to do with any cases registered with or against the actor. Besides, Mumbai Police Commissioner, Khan also met Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Vishwas Nangre Patil.

Mumbai police has confirmed the involvement of Lawrence Bishnoi gang in the case of leaving a death threat letter to Salman Khan's father Salim Khan. The information has been derived in the interrogation of Siddhesh Hiraman Kamble alias Mahakal, who is a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Police revered that, the person who delivered the letter came from Jalore, Rajasthan to Mumbai, and met with Mahakal after.

Lawrence Bishnoi has refuted any involvement in the threat letter addressed to Salman Khan and his father, Salim Khan. Bishnoi is in Tihar jail and has been in headlines since the murder of Punjabi musician Sidhu Moose Wala. The letter read, "Salim Khan Salman Khan bahut jald aapka Moose Wala hoga," with initials - G.B. and L.B. Delhi Police stated the letter might be a hoax or another gang's work. 

Salman Khan, who has been alleged of misbehaved with a journalist in 2019,  and was issued summon, filed a plea against it. Notably, a Bombay court issued the notice, asking the Bollywood actor to appear before the court on April 5. However, Khan challenged the issued summon and moved to Bombay HC, which agreed to review the petition. Single-bench of Justice Reveti Mohite Dere will conduct hearing on April 5.
