The Indian Navy has initiated the Samudra Setu-II operation to facilitate faster overseas transportation of liquid oxygen and other medical gear to aid India's COVID struggle. Reportedly, Indian Naval warships, including INS Kolkata, INS Airavat and INS Jalashwa have been sent offshore for the task. Meanwhile, INS Talwar will be bringing 40 metric tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) from Bahrain to Mumbai soon.

Stranded Indian nationals now have a new hope as INS Airavat, The Indian Naval ship is being used to transport them from Maldives to Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu. Nearly 250 Indians are said to be brought back as a part of the "Samudra Setu" mission. Since may 8, thousands of people have already been repatriated from various places and now the focus is on those who are stuck at Maldives.
