India's First Indigenous Aircraft Carrier 'INS Vikrant' Begins Sea Trails

India has started sea trials of its first Indigenous Aircraft Carrier (IAC) named ''INS Vikrant'' on August 4. Reportedly, INS Vikrant is 860 feet long, 230 feet wide, and weighs about 45,000 metric tons. However, it will be commissioned in August 2022 and fully operational in mid-2023. Notably, it has been designed by the Directorate of Naval Design of the Indian Navy, who said it's a ''proud and historic day''.
