Keep Stress Hormones In Check! Health Counsellor Advises Women
Mental health counsellor Arouba Kabir suggests that excess secretion of cortisol (stress hormone) might make women more moody, depressed and sleep-deprived. Moreover, high cortisol levels due to low estrogen secretion cause premature-ageing besides complications like arthritis, osteoporosis and ectopic pregnancy later in life. Arouba recommends prioritizing mental health by including exercise, antioxidant-rich food and optimal sleep. She also advised recognizing stressors for avoiding exaggerated response and sharing feelings if possible.
