Election Commission Extends Ban On Rallies, Eases Curbs On Meetings
The Election Commission ordered exemptions for indoor and outdoor rallies for five polling states, on February 6. In addition, 50% crowd is allowed for indoor rallies, while 30% capacity is permitted for outdoor rallies. The decision was taken in view of the steady decline in the rate of Covid-19 infection. Notably, the ban on padayatra, roadshows, and vehicle rallies remains, while door-to-door campaigning with a 20-person limit will continue.
