Rowing 18 km Everyday; The Unstoppable Anganwadi Woman Worker of Maharashtra
Relu Vasave, an Anganwadi worker has been rowing 18 kms a day since lockdown, to provide daily food for the 25 newborns and seven pregnant tribal women in Maharashtra's Nandurbar district. During Covid-19 when the tribe abstained from visiting Anganwadi for the daily check-ups, Relu volunteered to reach them. She borrowed a boat to travel to the hamlets along Narmada River. She said that despite of her hand ache, it is important that the people get nutritious food.
